GM announced that it will begin testing hydrogen fuel cells in the state of Hawaii. In collaboration with Hawaii’s major gas provider GM anticipates having 50 or so of these vehicles on the ground. Hawaii wants to reduce it’s dependency on gas by 70% so GM believes this is a good way to continue testing the hydrogen fuel cell to meet that goal.
This shows great initiative by GM, along with its other testing here on the mainland, to continue to look for fuel alternatives. Having our dealership here in Central Florida and so close to Orlando, Tampa and Daytona Beach we are certainly concerned about the drilling incident in the Gulf of Mexico so searching for alternatives is extremely important.
