Wow, a month went by and we forgot to post another update on the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. Well it was probably because we have been so busy selling the Cruze that we just ran out of time.

So we have a little breather here and wanted to get back to posting some more great news on the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze.

Lets get started with gas mileage. Wow, hot term these days especially with prices creeping back up. Well The Chevrolet Cruze Eco puts the competition to shame in saving fuel. Whether its the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla or the Ford Focus, the Chevrolet Cruze is just better.

You can see just by the sleek, and aerodynamic design that the Chevrolet Cruze means business.

Chevrolet Silverado Beats Ford Head to Head

The Chevrolet Silverado is the most macho truck on the road!

Pickuptrucks.com did a great a great challenge between a Chevrolet Sivlerado and a Ford Super Duty. With grueling towing tests in harse conditions the Chevy won hands down!

Pickuptrucks.com compared a 2011 Chevy Silverado 3500 LT (397 horsepower, 765 pounds-feet of torque, 6.6-liter Duramax V-8) and a 2011 Ford F-350 XLT (400 hp, 800 pounds-feet, 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8) and tested them pulling an 18,920 pound trailer up and down a 7.6 mile stretch of I-70 from Dillon, Colo., to the Eisenhower Tunnels, the highest vehicular tunnels in the U.S. at 11,000 feet elevation.

The trucks were tested for towing time up the hill and exhaust brake effectiveness going down. The Chevrolet Silverado won all. Check out the study – pickuptrucks.com.

Chevrolet Volt is Car of the Year!

Its no surprise to me that Motortrend has awarded the new Chevrolet Volt as the 2011 Motortrend car of the year.

The new Chevrolet Volt should be available in the Central Florida area; Orlando, Daytona Beach, Melbourne toward the very end of the current year.

New Smyrna Chevrolet cannot wait for the Chevy Volt to be here so our customers from Orlando to Daytona can begin experiencing the ground breaking technology of the Volt.

Chevrolet gains in reliability!

There were several articles yesterday talking about Consumer Reports reliability rating of GM vehicles. Great news, GM’s reliability has improved significantly. Chevrolet, being the major brand in GM, has 83% of its vehicles scoring average or better in reliability.

“While some GM nameplates had been among the least reliable brands in past years, they now rank above some major European competitors such as Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz,” Consumer Reports said in their survey on Tuesday.

This is wonderful news for a brand that had its back up against the wall. While most would have walked away, Chevrolet stood up, decided to make great products and turn a needed corporation back into a viable entity.

The best part is yet to come. With the new Chevrolet Cruze, Chevrolet Volt and convertible Chevrolet Camaro just around the corner, Chevy is in place to get back to being king.

Looking for a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro in Orlando?

Just out of Detroit:

“The Camaro Convertible will arrive in Chevrolet showrooms in February 2011. Starting price will be $30,000, including $850 destination.

“The Convertible will make the all-new Camaro, already a smash-hit, even more desirable to a greater range of drivers,” says Chris Perry, vice president of Chevrolet Marketing.

The Convertible model will be available in the same basic model offering as the Camaro Coupe. The standard model will have a 312-hp Direct Injection V6 engine featuring 29 miles per gallon on the highway. The SS model will feature the 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 426 hp. A six-speed manual transmission will be standard, with an optional six-speed automatic.

Camaro is America’s most popular sports car, seizing leadership in U.S. sales with the original coupe model that launched in spring of 2009 as a 2010 model. The right to purchase one of the first Convertibles was recently sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction for $205,000, with all proceeds donated to charity.”

New Smyrna Chevy can’t wait for this convertible to start rolling on the lot. We have had so many people asking about them so its great to finally have an answer!

Onstar adds social media

Have you been itching to get to facebook or twitter while you are driving? Don’t want to use the phone right, too dangerous.

Well OnStar announced another plan to increase services on General Motors vehicles. You guessed it, customers will not be able to connect to Facebook and Twitter without taking their hands off the wheel.

In addition, they are testing a way to let customers text message hands free. All part of a safety campaign that will allow customers to use use these social media tools while driving.

Some other cool features for subscribers include the ability to unlock their cars, remotely start them, and turn on the lights using their phones.

The 2011 GM vehicles will be equipped with the hardware but no timeline on when to expect them.

New Smyrna Chevrolet hits home run for area youth baseball!

New Smyrna Chevrolet Donates More Than $3300 in Cash and Sports Equipment to City of New Smyrna Beach

New Smyrna Chevrolet, one of 14 Chevrolet dealers from the Orlando area that partnered with local youth baseball leagues for the 2010 baseball season, raised nearly $46200 in total donations from the dealership and private parties. In addition to monetary support, New Smyrna Chevrolet provided City of New Smyrna Beach with equipment donations, an opportunity to raise (and keep) up to $10,000 through a unique fundraiser, and participation in a baseball clinic led by Daytona Cubs.“

Chevrolet has a long history with baseball and we’re glad we were able to bring that commitment to our youth leagues in New Smyrna Beach where our customers and their families live, work, and play,” said Jack Holcomb for New Smyrna Chevrolet. “The instructional clinic was the highlight of the season for many of the kids.  They had a blast – and, frankly, we did too.”

New Smyrna Chevrolet partnered with the City of New Smyrna Beach because of the league’s proximity to the dealership.  Equipment donated by New Smyrna Chevrolet included equipment bags, ball buckets, coach’s clipboards and t-shirts. In addition, the dealership helped donate either a Chevy Malibu or a Chevy Equinox to be used as a fundraiser by the league.  The winner of the fundraiser got to choose one of the two vehicles.

“We are delighted to be involved with the American tradition of youth baseball,” said Jack, of New Smyrna Chevrolet. “Sponsoring City of New Smyrna Beach gave us the opportunity to illustrate our commitment to the youth and families in New Smyrna Beach and we’re glad to have achieved such positive outcome for the community.”

In 2010, more than 980 Chevrolet dealers participated in Chevy Youth Baseball and helped raise more than $3 million for youth baseball programs across the USA.  Now in its fifth year, more than $11 million has been contributed to youth baseball in the communities where Chevrolet’s customers live, work, and play.
